Improvised Circular Peyote Stitch

This is an improvised circular peyote stitch piece. I like working in the round…it’s got a meditative feel to it. You stitch from the middle out, so you watch this design happen in your hand, according to the color choices you make. Like really slow motion animation.

You Can Be a Begrinner

When, in boyhood frustration, he would cry ‘I cannot!’ she would answer: ‘It is a phrase which you must forget; when one wants to, one always can.’

— Charles Spencer, writing about Russian artist Serge Diaghliev and his encouraging step-mother, The World of Serge Diaghilev
