A close friend recently found a collection of her great-grandmother’s embroidered linens, and asked if I could help her make them into pillows to share with family members. We had a really fun day yesterday, pressing each pillowcase or tablecloth, then choosing coordinating fabric for simple pillows. My friend and her 14-year-old daughter are new to sewing, so they learned a lot and saw the vintage needlework in a new way. I had great fun figuring out the best construction for each item, figuring out ways to include trim and work around stains or damage. I would do this all day, every day, in a perfect world.
